Great location - very close to stops for airport and tourist buses and quieter at night than a hotel on las Ramblas would have been. Lovely room with little balcony overlooking the street. Excellent shower in the marble bathroom; good selection of hot and cold food for breakfast and very helpful, friendly staff. Our flight back did not leave BCN until 21.10 so we paid 50 Euros and kept the room on until the evening - well worth it. Free internet access was useful(2 laptops are set up in the reception area).

Cafe d'Or (on the corner of Gravina and Pelai) was very handy and had lovely tapas at great prices. Not a tourist trap and very unpretentious.
There is a little 'open all hours' supermarket just to the left as you leave the hotel - useful for bottled water, snacks etc. and means you do not need to lug bags from shops further away.
The open top tourist buses stop in Placa Catlalunya, but there can be huge queues and it is very disorganised in terms of who is getting on to which bus - check to see if you want to use the red or blue routes, depending on which sites you hope to visit. Queues along the routes are also crazy when you try to get back on, but worth it to experience the city!

Very nice hotel. However some tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms would be nice. Some of the previous reviewers indicated to bring your own teabags but we had no kettle in our two rooms. We had a meal one night in the Gravina Restaurant and it was absolutely lovely.

Have to take the tourist bus - Bus Tourista or Bacelona Tours. We got a two day pass and saw absolutely everything on the list of places to see. Make sure you do a deal with taxis from the Airport, we thought we got a bargain from the Airport at €40.00 for 4 people but on booking a taxi to go back it cost us just €27!

Our booking was for 12 people and everyone was very pleased - the complimentary champagne for my friend's birthday was a nice little touch.

I cannot fault anything about the hotel, its staff or services. In fact just the opposite, warm welcome with a glass of champagne, excellent breakfast in both choice and quality. Room clean, good size, bathroom and shower very good. Every member of staff always had a smile and pleased to help. What a surprise when my wife was presented with a bottle of champagne on her Birthday, although mention had only been made when making restaurant booking.

Los Caricoles Restaurant just off the Ramblas and a must to see is the Sagrada Familia Cathedral designed by Gaudi.

Room was extremely small. The window was broken on arrival. There was a strong smell coming from the drains in the bathroom. Air conditioning does not operate in winter season, even though the temperatures outside were around 20 degrees and therefore the room was very very hot. We required to sleep every night with the window open and no covers.

Bus Turistic was brilliant.
Cellar de Tapas was a lovely restaurant

Excellently located - central yet quiet. Front of house staff extremely helpful- warm welcome, good travel tips, good restaurants recommendations. Would be nice to have tea and coffee in the rooms. Beds very firm!

Trust the advice of teh front of house staff - they have very good ideas. If you'vr not been to Barcelona before the open top tourist bus trip is well worth the money - we went round twice!!
