Despite high outside temperature and a very hot and stuffy room, it was not possible to switch on the air conditioning as this is not available early May!!
Bedroom very small, frosted glass window(=dark room), looking out into an unattractive yard and onto a brick wall.

We were given a room on the side of the Hotel, right opposite a Youth Hostel, the noise kept us awake all night. I asked if we could be moved and sure enough when we came back later in the day we were given a room at the back of the hotel on the 3rd floor. This room had recently been updated and was very smart.

There was some building work going on but we were offered an alternative room very easily. No facilities to make a hot drink which would have been appreciated. Very relaxed and welcoming and great location - we walked to most places.

the queues were not too bad for the Gaudi sites - well worth the wait. The Palau Guell was a bit disappointing as most of it is closed but entrance to the basement was free.
Not much choice for vegetarians.

No coffee/tea making facilities in room so take a travel kettle. Ironing facilities cost 13 euro for a pair of trousers so ensure you take a travel iron.Well located nearer to the harbour end of la ramblas but incredibly noisey as had to have the windows open and nobody ever seems to go to sleep!

When purchasing a meal be wary if no drinks menu as 6 euro for a coke, 11 euro for a glass of wine. Food was awful everywhere except one restaurant but that did cost 60 euro each for two courses and two drinks. Thank goodness we didn't take the kids! tourist bus cost 20 euro a day though only 6 euro for extra day.30 euro for taxi from the airport. Loved the place but it was very expensive. Sure we could have found places to eat that were better quality and price. Research before you go to get a better holiday. Loved the place and loads to do.
