The Espana hotel is housed in a building steeped in history dating back to 1859, and retaining some original features. The hotel obviously benefits from a fantastic location, which always made it a popular choice when it operated as a two star hotel. Now after two years of careful and extensive work, the hotel has been resurrected as a contemporary stylish four star hotel. Guest rooms feature modern amenities as standard, including WIFI, a mini bar, personal safe, and i-pod docking station to name a few. The rooms have been decorated and furnished with sleek neutral colours and fabrics, and feature sophisticated mood lighting. The hotel now has a stylish bar, while the restaurant boasts Martin Berasategui as it's executive chef, holder of three Michelin stars. The restaurant has retained some of the beautiful original features, and this is reflected in the menus, which offer traditional dishes with an added modern edge. In addition, the hotel now has a roof top outdoor pool, where guests can relax and enjoy stunning panoramic views of the city.
